Our flagship summer program for young actors.

The Summer Film Acting Academy is an intensive, full-day training experience for young performers who want to grow their on-camera skills and be seen by industry professionals.

Students train all week with top acting coaches from across the country, taking 6–7 classes per day, and present their work in a professional showcase for nationally recognized agents, casting directors, and talent managers.

What Students Will Do:

  • Train in small, age appropriate groups

  • Take daily classes in:

    • Acting for Film & TV (With several on-camera coaches) 

    • Scene Study

    • Commercial Acting

    • Improv/ Sketch Comedy

    • Voice Over

    • Dialect

    • Stunts

Musical Theatre Extension students also receive voice and dance training

  • Perform in a Friday showcase for industry professionals

  • Appear in our annual casting yearbook, used by industry professionals throughout the year

Make a Movie From Start to Finish!

Want to be in a movie? Come make one with us!

During Movie Camp, students audition, get cast, and film an original short movie — all in one exciting week. The experience ends with a red-carpet premiere on Friday for family and friends.

🎬 Every camper gets a speaking role, and the finished film is provided to families as a keepsake.

Two Months of Training in Just Two Weeks

New to Acting Out Academy or too busy during the school year?
Intro to Acting is the perfect way to jump in.

We pack two months of on-camera training into this focused summer camp, giving students real skills they can use immediately.

Students Will:

  • Learn Acting Out Academy’s on-camera technique

  • Work on scenes from real TV shows and films

  • Practice and film commercials

  • Learn how to get started with auditions

  • Leave with a professionally coached and filmed talent sample

Camp Dates:

  • June 8–12

  • July 20–24

Kids (Ages 7–12): 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Teens (Ages 13–18): 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Love storytelling? Curious about what happens behind the camera?

In this hands-on camp, students explore screenwriting and filmmaking fundamentals — from idea to script to storyboards — and hear their work read by actors.

Students Will:

  • Develop an original story idea

  • Write a treatment and learn how to pitch it

  • Create an elevator pitch

  • Write a short script (or part of a longer one)

  • Build a shot list and storyboards

  • Participate in a script reading with actors
